| Glenndale Days BBQ Bash 2008 | 8/17/2008 |
| Once again it's time for our big annual BBQ Bash! This one is guranteed to be the "Best Bash Ever"! Mark you calendars and invite your family and friends. The dates this year are September 19, 20 and 21st Friday evening, Sept. 19th at 6pm. We'll start things off with a pizza party sponsored by Pizza Hut featuring live music. Saturday morning Sept. 20th we'll be kicking it off with breakfast at 8am, followed by opening ceremonies at 10am and lunch from 11 till 2pm. We'll have rides, static displays, fly-bys, live music and a very special kids play area called "Kids Town". Don't miss the very emotional closing parachute flag jump at 5pm! Saturday evening at 6pm starts the BBQ Dinner sponsored by our very own Nathan Davis. The Dinner is a pitch-in dinner with Nate supplying the best BBQ in the land! And this is just the start! | New Rates | 8/6/2008 |
| In response to continuously increasing fuel prices, we have been forced to again raise rental rates. Please see Fleet at a Glance for the new hourly rates for each aircraft. | |
| Changes to Medical Certificate Duration | 8/3/2008 |
| Good news! If you're under 40 and hold a Third Class medical, that certificate is now good for five years, instead of the previous three. For First Class holders under 40, those certificates are now good for one year, instead of the previous six months. If you're under 40 and have allowed your medical to expire, it is automatically reinstated as valid for the new duration (60 months from the date of origianl examination for Third Class and 12 months for First). There are no changes for pilots over 40. For more information, check out the FAA website. | |

| Arrangements have been made to now provide Gate Key Cards for our club members! Stop at the terminal during normal business hours any time prior to your flight, and ask one of the line guys there for a gate pass. They will have you sign your name and hand you a card, and you can drive your vehicle right to the hangar! You can do this for a two-hour lesson, or a four-day trip. Just be sure to Bring Back The Gate Pass when you are done with your flight! Also, the staff at OKK have agreed to help you pull your airplane out if you need assistance. They have a tug, so if you are having a difficult time, feel free to give them a call for help! I know the Saratoga in particular can be a bear to tug in and out-so again, if you need it, use them! | |
